The new C-Class is weird.

I can’t decide if it looks nice or not, the wheels are too narrow, the bumper is too high, and it looks melty and blobby.

On the street, at first glance, I can barely tell the difference between the 222 S Class and the 205 C Class styling.

My eyes also suck.

I hate it, I recently bought a W204 so I spent some time around the new C300’s at the dealer. It looks like a baby S-class. Too melty and blobby, while the W204 was more sharp than blobby.

It is absolutely useless. but I sorta like having the acceleration-o-meter.

I fully agree, the W204 look much much better, Mercs whole lineup now look blobby and melty.

You are not alone, my eyes also suck and they look very similar on the street.

I agree. I think the tail lights look droopy.

I was behind one of these for 30 minutes in traffic last week, and I just kept staring at it, waiting for it to click. I’m sure they’ll sell plenty more, which is the entire point.

“it looks melty and blobby.”

So basically like the rest of Mercedes’ lineup?

Yes, I really don’t like the new lineup

Yes! I have mistaken the S-Class for the C-Class on multiple occasions, and I have perfect vision. :P

I’m driving, my passenger took the picture (my sister).

I feel the same way. Very unattractive cars right now with exception to the S-class.

Agreed on the melty/blobby aspect. Another comparison is to a bar of slightly-used soap.

To me it looks like a well-done third-world knockoff of an S-class in an appropriately-third-world size, not an actual Mercedes. The last Mercedes sedan I have felt impressed by was the quad round headlamp E-Class, and that even holds up today, having sampled every other Mercedes including the S-class. The E550 coupe and SL550 come close, especially with as smooth and authoritative as the V8 feels approaching and maintaining highway speeds, but even the SL550 Silver Arrow edition I spent a few hours in failed to feel special (though it looks good and seems to make people cut me off even when there’s plenty of room all around).
